Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola believes that Ferran Torres has attacking movement similar to Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy.
Torres has had a bright start to the new campaign, scoring a brace in City's 5-0 victory at home against Arsenal shortly before the international break.
Speaking to the press ahead of Saturday's trip to the King Power Stadium, Guardiola was keen to state that he is not comparing the two forwards and believes that the 21-year-old Spaniard still has some way to go to match the achievements of 34-year-old Vardy.
"I didn't compare Ferran Torres with Jamie Vardy. I said Ferran has quite similar movements. Ferran has to eat a lot of soup at dinnertime to be compared with Jamie Vardy and what he has done in his career," Guardiola said on Friday.
"Ferran has just started, Vardy has done amazing things and I am a big fan of him as a striker. I made the comment because Vardy likes to make the movement in behind. Normally strikers don't, but Ferran also likes to make that movement in behind."
Torres, who is set to spearhead the City attack for the foreseeable future, has returned to Manchester after a successful spell away on international duty, scoring twice for Spain in World Cup qualifiers against Georgia and Kosovo.
