Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott has revealed that he has been given a late call-up to the England squad for this week's international friendly.
The 29-year-old, who was originally left out of Roy Hodgson's side, has claimed that he will be part of Wednesday's clash against Italy, whom the Three Lions lost to on penalties in the quarter-final of Euro 2012.
Lescott tweeted: "Was happy to be woken up by my phone this morning, phone call to say I've been called up to the England squad for Wednesday's game."
Meanwhile, Lescott's City teammate Joe Hart along with Chelsea forward Daniel Sturridge withdrew from the clash due to injury problems.
