Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jake Livermore has said that it would be "something special" to make his England debut against Italy on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old, who has never featured for the Three Lions at any age level, is one of four Spurs players to have been called up for the friendly in Berne.
"It's fantastic news and I'm really happy," Livermore told the club's official website. "It's just nice to know that all the hard work has been recognised.
"It's the pinnacle really and it would be great now to be involved in some way. It would be something special to get a first cap."
Livermore made 38 appearances in all competitions last season.
