Manuel Pellegrini hopes Manchester City can recover from 'bad week'

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini says that he hopes the team can recover from their 'bad week' following back-to-back defeats.

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has claimed that his team will do all they can to recover from their 'bad week'.

The former Premier League champions will take on Southampton this weekend after they suffered back-to-back defeats in the Premier League and Champions League.

Last Saturday, City were undone 4-1 by Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool and four games later picked up a 1-0 loss against Juventus.

"It wasn't a good week for us - we lost two games," Pellegrini said in today's press conference. "Against Liverpool it was an ugly defeat and then against Juventus we improved a little bit but it was not the result we wanted.

"You never know which team will win in the Premier League. Liverpool came here and beat us but before that they lost to Crystal Palace and then Palace lost to Sunderland.

"Southampton are having a good season, they're unbeaten away and they have good players. We'll need to play well to win."

City are third in the Premier League table, two points adrift of leaders Leicester City after 13 games.
