Manchester City have reportedly identified Bologna midfielder Mattias Svanberg as a potential transfer target.
Pep Guardiola is currently well-stocked for options in the centre of the pitch with only veteran Fernandinho seemingly in contention to leave the Etihad Stadium in 2022.
Previous reports have also indicated that City's priorities lie in other areas of the pitch, most notably on the left-hand side of defence and down the middle of their attack.
However, according to Calciomercato, Svanberg has emerged as a possible addition during one of the upcoming windows.
The report claims that the Premier League leaders have started to analyse the capabilities of the Sweden international, who has 18 months remaining on his contract.
Having impressed during his 19 appearances in Serie A this season, contributing three goals and two assists, the 22-year-old is also said to be on the radar of Inter Milan and AC Milan.
