Tomasz Kuszczak has said that he signed for Watford on loan in order to be considered for this summer's European Championship.
The Manchester United keeper said that a lack of first-team opportunities at Old Trafford was affecting his chances of making the Polish national side.
"I want to have a chance of being involved in the Euros in my home country," the 29-year-old said.
"So I need to be out there playing so everyone can see I'm fighting fit and hungry.
"I miss the feeling of a match day. Where Watford were in the Championship table never crossed my mind. I knew this to be a good club."
Kuszczak joined United from West Bromwich Albion in 2007.
