Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has hailed his side beating Fenerbahce and putting themselves in contention to qualify from their Europa League group.
The Red Devils lost their first game of the competition, against Feyenoord in September, but their win over Zorya Luhansk has been followed up with a 4-1 rout of the Turkish giants.
The result puts United second in Group A, level on points with Feyenoord, and Mourinho hailed what he felt was a "very important victory".
He told reporters: "It is three points and that is what we needed. We knew after the first defeat that it was important to get nine points at home and a few more away so it was a very important victory for us.
"It was good. They came with a good defensive plan and stopped us for the first period but then after the first two goals, both clear penalties, it opened the door for quality.
"With the fourth goal we stopped and they tried to have a reaction which they did. I am never happy to concede a goal. We lacked a bit of concentration but that is the nature of the players and with lots of changes, it is acceptable."
Up next for Man United is a trip to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday.
