Manchester United team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Liverpool

Sports Mole rounds up all of Manchester United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's FA Cup showdown with Liverpool.

Having just returned to the top of the Premier League table, Manchester United turn their attention to the FA Cup when they face Liverpool in the pick of the fourth-round fixtures.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men scraped a 2-1 win at Fulham to leapfrog Manchester City and Leicester City in the Premier League table, with two points now separating United from the chasing pack after Edinson Cavani and Paul Pogba got the goals at Craven Cottage.

Sunday's showdown marks the second time in the space of a week that Man United and Liverpool have locked horns, with fans and neutrals alike hoping that this game will prove more entertaining than last weekend's drab goalless draw at Anfield.

With that in mind, Sports Mole rounds up all of Man United's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Victor Lindelof

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: January 24 (vs. Liverpool)

Victor Lindelof has been struggling with back problems for the past month and was not involved at Fulham despite playing the full 90 in last weekend's draw with Liverpool. Solskjaer has played down any concerns of serious injury, though, and he could be in contention for this game.

Brandon Williams

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knock
Possible return date: Unknown

Brandon Williams, who continues to be linked with a January exit, did not return to training before Wednesday's trip to Fulham and is not expected to be fit in time for Sunday either.

Phil Jones

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Phil Jones would have been eligible to play in this match despite his omission from United's Premier League squad, but as is the case with Williams, the defender is yet to return to training from the knee injury which has kept him out for the whole season.

Marcos Rojo

Status: Out
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: Unknown

Marcos Rojo turned out for the Under-23s team back in October before his calf problem flared up again, but with his contract up in six months' time, he is expected to leave in the near future anyway.

Facundo Pellistri

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Facundo Pellistri is still waiting for his first-team debut for the Red Devils, and he tested positive for coronavirus a couple of weeks ago. The youngster should not be too far away from a return, but he is being tipped to head out on loan in order to get some invaluable first-team action.

MANCHESTER UNITED'S SUSPENSION LIST

Man United have no players suspended for the visit of Liverpool.
