Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is reportedly set to miss around three weeks of action due to an injury.

Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is reportedly set to be out for around three weeks due to injury.

McTominay has featured in 27 Premier League matches this season, scoring seven goals and providing one assist from the centre of Man United's midfield.

However, the Scotland international was a notable absentee for Sunday's 2-2 draw against rivals Liverpool at Old Trafford.

According to the Daily Mail, McTominay was left out of the matchday squad after sustaining a knee injury in the 4-3 defeat to Chelsea last Thursday.

The report claims that McTominay hyper-extended his knee at Stamford Bridge and is now set to miss around three weeks of action.

McTominay dropped out of the starting lineup against Chelsea, but he was later brought on as a substitute for Casemiro in the 75th minute.

After sustaining a knee injury in his late substitute appearance, McTominay will remain sidelined for Saturday's away meeting with Bournemouth.

The 27-year-old is also a doubt for Man United's upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Championship side Coventry City on April 21.

Fortunately for Erik ten Hag, he currently has a number of central midfield options at his disposal, including Casemiro, Sofyan Amrabat and Kobbie Mainoo.

Who are Man United's other injury concerns?

Ten Hag may be well-stocked in the engine room, but he is currently dealing with a defensive injury crisis ahead of Saturday's trip to the Vitality Stadium.

Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof are sidelined with calf and thigh problems, while Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans picked up injuries in last week's to Chelsea.

The Red Devils are also without the services of full-backs Tyrell Malacia and Luke Shaw as well as French forward Anthony Martial.

Having picked up 49 points from 31 games, Man United are sitting in sixth place in the Premier League table and 12 points adrift of fifth-placed Aston Villa with a game in hand.
