A frustrating summer transfer window has now closed with Manchester United having missed out on a number of their top targets, including Jadon Sancho.
The Red Devils were busy on deadline day, though, bringing in Edinson Cavani, Alex Telles and Facundo Pellistri, in addition to agreeing a deal to sign Amad Traore in January. Attention will now switch to other business they may do when the window reopens in the winter.
Here, Sports Mole rounds up the latest news on possible comings and goings from Old Trafford.
Tuesday morning's Manchester United transfer talk news roundup:
Chevrolet to help fund Cristiano Ronaldo to Manchester United?
Manchester United have reportedly been handed a boost in their efforts to secure a reunion with Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo.
Despite enduring a mixed season in Turin, Ronaldo is said to be keen on seeing out the remaining 19 months on his contract at the Italian champions.
However, speculation persists regarding a potential return to United, almost 11-and-a-half years since his departure for Real Madrid.
According to Auto Esporte, United's shirt sponsors see value in helping the English giants fund a move for the Portuguese superstar.
While United would be able to afford any transfer fee for Ronaldo, wages may become an issue if they do not receive assistance from sponsors or prize money.
Ronaldo has influenced sales at Juventus' sponsor Jeep since his arrival in 2018, leaving Chevrolet to expect the same impact should the attacker return to English football.
Manchester United to consider move for Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier?
Manchester United have reportedly identified Atletico Madrid defender Kieran Trippier as a potential future signing.
While Aaron Wan-Bissaka is regarded as the clear first choice at right-back, there is uncertainty over the futures of Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Diogo Dalot.
If United are able to cash in on one of those players, it would leave Solskjaer to target reinforcements in that area of the pitch.
According to The Telegraph, the Premier League giants may contemplate an approach for Trippier, who has starred for Atletico since his switch to Wanda Metropolitano last year.
The England international has made 48 appearances in all competitions, 15 of which have come in La Liga and the Champions League during the current campaign.
The 30-year-old has just 19 months remaining on his contract, putting Atletico in a position where they will have to consider negotiating fresh terms with the player.
