Dele Alli hits out at Tottenham Hotspur teammates for lacking the appropriate hunger against Manchester United on Wednesday.

Dele Alli has hit out at Tottenham Hotspur teammates for lacking the appropriate hunger against Manchester United on Wednesday.

Following three straight wins under their new boss, Jose Mourinho's side fell to a 2-1 defeat following two goals from Marcus Rashford.

Despite a remarkable goal from Alli in the first half, Spurs rarely looked threatening going forward and deserved to come away with zero points.

Speaking after the game, the midfielder told Amazon Prime: "With the old manager coming back they were always going to be up for it that little bit more.

"We lost not on them outplaying us but on our attitude - we weren't hungry enough. It was maybe a little bit of arrogance and over-confidence.

"In games like this you have to have a bit of arrogance - but we were sloppy."

Alli, who struggled under Mauricio Pochettino before he was sacked, has emerged as one of Mourinho's key players, netting four goals and claiming one assist since the latter's arrival.

Spurs will have the opportunity to bounce back from defeat at the Theatre of Dreams with a game against Burnley at home on Saturday.
