Javier Hernandez describes Louis van Gaal's methods as "rigid" and "strict"

Javier Hernandez describes Louis van Gaal's coaching methods at Manchester United as "rigid" and considers the Dutchman "very strict".

Javier Hernandez has described Louis van Gaal's coaching methods at Manchester United as "rigid" while claiming that Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is more similar to Sir Alex Ferguson.

The Mexican forward was shipped out on loan by United to the Bernabeu for the season, but initially struggled to make his mark in the first team.

In recent games, however, it has been a different story as Hernandez managed to score the winning goal against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League quarter-finals, and also netted twice in Real's 4-2 win over Celta Vigo.

While Hernandez's future in Madrid looks in doubt as the club reportedly decided against activating a buyout clause, the forward has suggested that he does not enjoy working under Van Gaal.

When asked during an interview with AS if Van Gaal is different from Ancelotti, Hernandez said: "Yes, they are very different. Ancelotti has a bit more contact with us and he is more relaxed.

"Van Gaal likes routines, timetables are always very rigid. He's very strict on discipline. Ancelotti is more like Ferguson, he's more liberal."

Hernandez has been on United's books since 2010.
