Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund becomes the youngest player to score in four consecutive Premier League appearances for Manchester United.

Rasmus Hojlund became the youngest player to score in four consecutive Premier League appearances for Manchester United when he registered against West Ham United on Sunday afternoon.

The Denmark international made the breakthrough in the match at Old Trafford, firing his side ahead in the 23rd minute, before Alejandro Garnacho netted a brace for Erik ten Hag's side.

Hojlund has now scored in four successive league appearances for Man United, having also registered against Aston Villa, Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The forward, who turned 21 on Sunday, had to wait until Boxing Day to register his first Premier League goal, but he has now found his feet in England's top flight.

Hojlund's record for Man United this season now stands at 10 goals and two assists in 28 appearances, and he spoke of the connection he has with Garnacho in his post-match interview.

"It was very good. It is always special to play on your birthday but today of course with the win, yeah," the youngster told Sky Sports News after the win over West Ham.

"I have spoken about doing a celebration with my friends and they said about doing the guitar.

"A month ago there was a lot of talk about us [Hojlund and Garnacho] not scoring enough goals but we are both young and growing every day. You can see the connection between us."

Meanwhile, Garnacho added: "I am very happy because I scored two goals. I am enjoying it a lot playing for this club with this stadium and the fans. We are happy."

Hojlund later added to BBC Sport: "It has always been there, I have always believed in myself, it has just been about getting the rhythm going. You get one goal, then two and get a bit of momentum and start linking up with the players.

"I spoke with my teammates and manager because we need to make each other better, that is what it is about. I want to be involved as much as possible.

"I also worked a lot on myself, I looked at my game and what I could improve. I think I have developed a lot since I've been here."

Hojlund also impressed for Man United in the group stage of this season's Champions League, finding the back of the net on five occasions in six appearances.

The 20-time English champions will be bidding to continue their recent upturn in form when they head to high-flying Aston Villa in the Premier League next weekend.
