Joleon Lescott: 'Everton will be up for Manchester United'

Joleon Lescott hopes that former club Everton can bounce back at Manchester United this afternoon.

Joleon Lescott has backed former club Everton bounce back from their FA Cup semi-final defeat at Manchester United this afternoon.

The Manchester City defender spent three seasons at the Merseyside club before signing at the Etihad Stadium, and insists that the Toffees are not the sort of club to let their trail off.

"Everton could do us a massive favour," he said. "I don't think the manager would let their season just fizzle out.

"I still have a lot of mates in the team. [Everton] will be up for the game at Old Trafford and look to bounce back.

"We just need to take care of our own games. If we don't do that, it doesn't matter what United do because we won't be able to catch them."

The Citizens are five points behind the Red Devils in the league table.
