Manchester United will allegedly move for ex-Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri if they decide to part ways with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Manchester United have reportedly identified Massimiliano Allegri as their first-choice alternative to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

After an indifferent start to the new campaign, Solskjaer finds himself under increasing pressure to deliver results at Old Trafford.

Executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has publicly backed the club's manager, suggesting that the board has every intention of remaining patient with the Norwegian.

However, Tuttosport claims that former Juventus boss Allegri has already emerged as a potential replacement in the future.

While the 52-year-old is currently on sabbatical, he may be willing to take over in the dugout should an opportunity arise during the season or in the summer.

United currently find themselves in eighth position in the top-flight standings.
