Manchester United's Nemanja Matic: 'My body isn't ready, but I will be better'

Nemanja Matic insists that he will get "better" for Manchester United when he reaches full fitness.

Manchester United midfielder Nemanja Matic has insisted that he will get "better" on the pitch.

The Serbian international moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea in a £40m deal, but was behind the rest of his teammates in terms of fitness as he did not have a full pre-season.

Matic has started all seven Premier League games for Jose Mourinho's team, as well as both Champions League fixtures, but the 29-year-old believes that he has not yet reached best form.

"I trained alone. I can feel it in some parts of the game," Sky Sports News quotes Matic as saying. "My body is not ready yet and I have some difficulty, of course, but I try to hide that and to play simple. I will be better."

United are unbeaten in 10 games in all competitions.
