Paul Parker: 'Manchester United need three more signings to win title'

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker claims that Jose Mourinho needs to sign at least three new players to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

Former Manchester United defender Paul Parker has claimed that Jose Mourinho needs to bring in at least three more players if the club are to challenge for the Premier League title this season.

The Red Devils have so far signed Eric Bailly, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Paul Pogba this summer, the latter of whom returned to Old Trafford for a world-record fee.

However, Parker believes that the current squad will struggle to even make the top four unless there are further improvements.

"They still need a forward and a centre-half and another midfield player. Manchester United aren't finished yet; they can't be because that present squad just isn't going to win the league and Mourinho is all about winning the league," he told 888sport.com.

"Would you say United can even finish top four after what we saw in the Bournemouth game? I'd have to say not really. Liverpool look good and Arsenal will improve. Tottenham and Chelsea are hard to break down and will be in there. So United have some work to do between now and the end of August to bring in at least three players to guarantee a Champions League spot and maybe win the league."

United opened their campaign with a 3-1 victory away to Bournemouth on Sunday.
