Arsenal hold 'initial talks' with the agents of Adrien Rabiot in the hope of securing a deal for the Juventus midfielder, according to a report.

Arsenal have reportedly held 'initial talks' with the agents of Adrien Rabiot in the hope of securing a deal for the Juventus midfielder as soon as possible.

The France international's existing contract with the Old Lady is due to expire at the end of June, and there remains ongoing speculation surrounding his future in Turin.

There is believed to be a host of Premier League interest in Rabiot, with Manchester United and Newcastle United said to be keen on signing him on a free transfer this summer.

Arsenal have also been long been linked with him, and according to HITC, the Gunners have held discussions with his representatives over a move to the Emirates Stadium.

The report claims that Juventus remain determined to keep hold of the midfielder, with the club remaining confident that he will sign fresh terms with the Italian giants.

The 28-year-old started his professional career with Paris Saint-Germain, representing the French club's first team on 227 occasions before leaving to join Juventus on a free transfer.

Rabiot has now made 199 appearances for the Old Lady, scoring 21 goals and registering 15 assists, but his time with the Italian outfit could now be coming to an end.

The midfielder has again been an important player for Juventus this season, making 22 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and registering three assists in the process.

Rabiot has captained Juventus this season, while he was on the scoresheet in their last Serie A match, finding the back of the net in their 2-2 draw with Hellas Verona on February 17.

Arsenal head coach Mikel Arteta is said to be an admirer of the midfielder, with Spaniard keen to bring him to the Emirates Stadium for the 2024-25 campaign.

Arteta is believed to be determined to sign a player who can play alongside Declan Rice in the engine room, and Rabiot's physical capabilities make him an ideal player for the Premier League.

Last December, it was claimed that Rabiot's number one priority was still to sign a new deal at Juventus, providing that agreement could be reached over personal terms.

There was also widespread speculation surrounding the Frenchman's future this time last year, but he ultimately signed a new one-year contract with his Italian club.
