Arsenal have reportedly joined the race to sign RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate.
With Gunners boss Mikel Arteta expected to oversee a major squad overhaul in the summer - finances permitting - the futures of several Arsenal defenders are up in the air.
The club have already waved goodbye to Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis, while Calum Chambers and David Luiz are also not guaranteed to stay at the Emirates beyond the summer, so Arteta supposedly wants to bolster his defensive ranks for the 2021-22 campaign.
Leipzig defender Konate has already been linked with moves to Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea, but according to the Evening Standard, Arsenal are also in the hunt for his signature.
The 21-year-old will see his deal at Leipzig expire in 2023 and could be allowed to leave for the right price this summer, although Julian Nagelsmann has already lost Dayot Upamecano to Bayern Munich.
Konate has endured an injury-plagued campaign and has started just four Bundesliga games for Leipzig this term, as well as six outings in the Champions League.
