Zlatan Ibrahimovic is reportedly seeking assurances from Jose Mourinho before he signs on the dotted line to join Manchester United.
It was reported on Friday night that the two parties are close to agreeing a one-year contract after Ibrahimovic opted to leave Paris Saint-Germain.
The Sweden international is believed to have received offers from overseas, including the lucrative Chinese Super League, but it appears as though he is closing in on a free transfer to Old Trafford.
According to The Guardian, the 34-year-old wants a promise from Mourinho that he will not be used as a back-up striker as he is not prepared to spend the season on the bench.
Ibrahimovic, who scored a career-best 50 goals in 51 appearances in his final season at PSG, is expected to be paid £220,000 a week at United.
As well as PSG, the striker has played for Malmo, Ajax, Juventus, Inter Milan, Barcelona and AC Milan.
