Manchester United's Juan Mata 'will not be sold to Barcelona'

Spanish journalist Guillem Balague rejects reports that Barcelona want Manchester United star Juan Mata.

Juan Mata will not be leaving Manchester United to join Barcelona, according to Spanish journalist Guillem Balague.

Reports have emerged claiming that the Spanish giants want to seal a transfer for the 27-year-old in the summer.

It is rumoured that club officials have contacted United regarding Mata, who moved to Old Trafford from Chelsea for £37.1m in the 2014 January window.

However, Balague has rejected the reports by tweeting: "Rubbish story of the day: the rumours about Mata. He is staying put, doesn't want to go, United don't want to sell at all."

Mata spent four years at Valencia before moving to the Premier League club.
