Bayer Leverkusen attacker Kai Havertz will reportedly turn down a summer move to Chelsea or Manchester United if they fail to qualify for next season's Champions League.
The 21-year-old has been in excellent form for Leverkusen during the 2019-20 campaign, scoring 16 times and providing nine assists in 41 appearances in all competitions.
A number of clubs, including Chelsea, United, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, have been credited with an interest in the Germany international ahead of this summer's transfer window.
However, according to Bild, Havertz is determined to play Champions League football next season and will turn down any club not playing in Europe's premier competition.
Chelsea are currently fourth in the Premier League table, five points clear of fifth-placed United, with both teams having seven games left to play.
Fifth position could yet be enough to qualify for the Champions League depending on the outcome of Manchester City's appeal over a two-year suspension, while the Europa League also offers another route for United to qualify for Europe's leading tournament next term.
