Sheffield Wednesday head coach Jos Luhukay has admitted that George Hirst could complete a transfer to Manchester United.
Reports have claimed that Hirst is likely to sign for United when his contract at Hillsborough expires at the end of the season.
Other clubs are allegedly interested in the 19-year-old, but Luhukay says that the youngster may struggle to turn down a switch to Old Trafford.
The 54-year-old told BBC Radio Sheffield: "It's a decision George will have to make himself. I think it's really difficult when a club as big as Manchester United has an interest in him to say no.
"George must decide how he sees his future and I respect that. A good decision or not a good decision, I cannot answer that."
Hirst has made just two first-team appearances for the Owls.
