Manchester United are reportedly still hopeful of signing Bayern Munich forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils are working to bring a new striker to Old Trafford this month, as Cristiano Ronaldo's recent departure has left them short of options in the final third of the field.
Man United were first linked with Choupo-Moting towards the latter stages of last year, and according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, the 20-time English champions are still chasing his signature.
Plettenberg claims that Bayern are in talks with the experienced attacker over a new contract, but the Red Devils are 'still pushing' for a possible January deal.
"News Choupo-Moting: First meeting about a new contract between [Hasan] Salihamidzic, Neppe, Choupos father & his agent today. Good talks but no fast decision. He doesn't want to be the backup next season. Clubs like #MUFC still pushing for a transfer in winter," read a tweet from the journalist.

The 33-year-old has been in impressive form for Bayern during the 2022-23 campaign, scoring 11 goals and registering three assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.
Choupo-Moting has six goals and two assists in 10 Bundesliga outings this term, while he managed three goals in four appearances in the group stage of the Champions League.
Since arriving at Allianz Arena from Paris Saint-Germain in 2020, the Cameroon international has scored 29 goals and registered nine assists in 74 appearances for the Bundesliga giants.
The forward was also in action for his country at the 2022 World Cup, scoring once in three appearances at the competition, with his goal coming against Serbia at the end of November.

Choupo-Moting has previous experience of playing in the Premier League, having turned out for Stoke City during the 2017-18 campaign, scoring five goals and providing five assists in 32 appearances for the Potters.
The forward then made the move to PSG, scoring nine goals and registering three assists in 51 outings for the French giants ahead of his switch to Bayern.
Choupo-Moting's current deal at Allianz Arena is due to expire at the end of June, meaning that, as it stands, Man United can hold talks with him this month over a free transfer.
Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford are Man United's only senior options at centre-forward following Ronaldo's departure, with the club bidding to sign a new striker before the end of the month.
