Manchester United will turn down any offers which arrive for club captain Bruno Fernandes this summer, according to a report.

Manchester United will reportedly turn down any offers which arrive for Bruno Fernandes this summer, with the club have no interest in allowing the Portugal international to leave.

The 29-year-old's future is currently the subject of much speculation, with Bayern Munich thought to be keen to bring him to the Bundesliga, while clubs from Saudi Arabia are also believed to be interested.

Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad allegedly both have an interest in the playmaker, who has again been in impressive form for Erik ten Hag's side during the 2023-24 campaign.

Fernandes has scored 15 goals and registered 12 assists in 46 appearances for the 20-time English champions this term, including 10 goals and eight assists in 34 Premier League appearances.

Man United will not play Champions League football next season, though, and there have been suggestions that the Portuguese could look to move on in the upcoming market.

Man United 'will not allow Fernandes to leave'

A recent report claimed that the Red Devils may have to offer Fernandes a new and improved contract at Old Trafford in order to convince him to stay.

The ex-Sporting Lisbon attacker has another two years left to run on his new deal at Old Trafford, with the option of a further 12 months, but he could potentially be in line for another contract.

According to CaughtOffside, Man United are not prepared to entertain any offers for Fernandes during the summer market, with the attacker viewed as 'untouchable'.

The report claims that even a sizeable offer would be rejected, with the Portuguese viewed as a key part of the club's plans moving forward.

Man United cannot afford to let Fernandes leave

Fernandes has not always been at his best for Man United this season, but he is the type of player that the club should be looking to build around in the coming years.

There will be a number of departures this summer, and more next year, but the Red Devils simple cannot afford to let Fernandes leave considering what he brings to the team.

There remain question marks surrounding his suitability as a captain, but his drive and determination cannot be faulted, and he has proven to be an outstanding signing for the Red Devils.

Since arriving at Old Trafford from Sporting in January 2020, he has scored 79 goals and registered 65 assists in 231 appearances for the club in all competitions.

Fernandes expressed a desire to stay after Wednesday's clash with Newcastle United, and he is again set to lead the Red Devils during the 2024-25 campaign.
