Manchester United are lining up a move to bring Real Madrid forward Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club, according to a report.
The 28-year-old left the Red Devils in 2009 but he is now reportedly clamouring for a return to Old Trafford following a difficult season in La Liga.
United's chief executive David Gill has met with Ronaldo's agent Jorge Mendes to discuss his return to the club, reports the Daily Mail.
The Portuguese's return may even be enough to convince Wayne Rooney to remain at Old Trafford after speculation arose linking him with moves to Chelsea and Bayern Munich.
