Manchester United have reportedly made contact with Atletico Madrid to discuss Joao Felix.
The 22-year-old has largely struggled to impress for Diego Simeone's side since joining the club in a big-money move from Portuguese giants Benfica in the summer of 2019.
There has recently been speculation surrounding the Portugal international, who is believed to be keen to secure a move away from Wanda Metropolitano next year.
Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus are among the clubs to be credited with an interest in his services ahead of the January transfer window.
However, according to AS, Man United are leading the race for the Portuguese, with the Red Devils 'already asking' about Felix's situation at Atletico.
The report claims that the attacker's agent is 'already studying various alternatives to try to convince Atletico to let Felix leave'.
The forward, who has a contract with the Spanish champions until June 2026, has scored once and provided two assists in 12 appearances for Simeone's side this season.
Felix has 20 goals and 11 assists in 88 outings for the capital giants in all competitions, while he netted 20 times and registered 11 assists in 43 first-team appearances for Benfica.
