Santos chief confirms bids from European clubs for Gabriel Barbosa

Santos president Modesto Roma insists that the ball is now in Gabriel Barbosa's court, with two solid bids being made for the Brazilian ace by European clubs.

Santos president Modesto Roma has revealed that offers have been made for striker Gabriel Barbosa, although rumoured interested parties Manchester United and Barcelona have yet to make an approach.

The European giants have been heavily linked with the 19-year-old this summer, who is thought to be valued at around the £30m mark.

Barbosa, a part of Brazil's successful Olympic football squad on home soil, admitted earlier this week that he would relish the chance to play alongside international teammate Neymar at Camp Nou.

Neither side has yet made an approach, however, with Italian duo Juventus and Inter Milan confirmed as the only teams to have put a solid bid on the table.

"The only real offers come from Juventus and Inter," Roma is quoted as saying by the Daily Star. "Now it depends on Gabriel. Santos don't have to accept or refuse, the clauses for a move are in his contract and the club will respect them."

Barbosa has scored five goals and claimed one assist in 10 appearances for Santos so far this season.
