Carlo Ancelotti 'a week away from Napoli sack'

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti is reportedly just a week away from posing his job at the Serie A side.

Napoli boss Carlo Ancelotti could reportedly lose his job next week if the Serie A club fails to reach the Champions League knockout phases.

The Italian finds himself under severe pressure following a recent defeat to Bologna that extended Napoli's winless run to eight games.

Normally safe bets for the top four, Napoli are now sitting in seventh place in Serie A, 17 points behind leaders Inter Milan.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Ancelotti will lose his job if Napoli fail to beat Genk in a crucial Champions League game next week.

Defeat to the Belgian side, combined with Red Bull Leipzig beating Liverpool, would send Napoli crashing out of the group stages.

The report states that the dressing room is split into several camps regarding their stance on Ancelotti, with the senior bloc said to be against the 60-year-old.
