Newcastle United boss Steve McClaren says that naivety cost his side after they were beaten 2-0 by Swansea City at the Liberty Stadium this afternoon.
The Magpies, who had Daryl Janmaat sent off before half time, were beaten thanks to goals from Bafetimbi Gomis and Andre Ayew.
"We didn't learn a lot apart from it is difficult to win with 10 men," McClaren told BBC Sport.
"A little bit of naivety has cost us, 10 men and your backs are against the wall. We have to dust ourselves down and concentrate on the Manchester United game next week.
"I'm not too sure whether it was a second booking but we knew he would be a danger and unfortunately we fell into the trap."
The result leaves McClaren's side in 15th place in the Premier League table, with one point from their opening two games.
