Paul Lambert is reportedly planning on taking Norwich City striker Grant Holt to Aston Villa when the Canaries boss makes the switch to the Midlands.
The 42-year-old is expected to be named as Alex McLeish's successor in the next few days, despite Norwich's refusal to accept the Scotsman's resignation yesterday.
The future of the Canaries' star striker has also been up in the air after Holt submitted a transfer request a fortnight ago, which was swiftly rejected by the former Championship club.
It is understood that Lambert has outlined Holt as his first priority signing when he officially moves to Villa, according to the Daily Mail.
Holt netted 17 goals for Norwich this season, which prompted many to back the 31-year-old for an England call-up.
