The away side then took the lead on 33 minutes when Koren's corner deflected into the back of the net off Joe Newell.
The Posh almost grabbed an equaliser, though Jaanai Gordon's effort went just wide of the mark.
Stephen Quinn had a shot from distance on 57 minutes, but his effort was comfortable for the goalkeeper.
The referee then awarded Peterborough a penalty after 72 minutes when he judged James Chester to have brought Tommy Rowe down in the area.
