Paris Saint-Germain manager Laurent Blanc has described his side's match against Valenciennes on Wednesday as "painful".
The Ligue 1 champions struck the only goal of the game just before half time through Edinson Cavani to secure a 1-0 victory on the road.
However, Blanc is annoyed by the growing injury problems and fitness issues that his side are suffering.
"It was painful at times, both on the pitch and off, because we had some problems with injuries," Blanc told the press. "It was a difficult match in every sense, but the essential thing was to get the three points because we will have a lot of games like this over the course of the campaign.
"We knew this would be a difficult match. We started well but didn't get the goal, and you need to score when you are on top in football. This was one of these games where nothing went right for us but we still fought to come away with the essential thing, the result.
"The Monaco match cost us a lot of energy and we only had three days to recover. And we lost Thiago [Silva]. There were signs that Cavani and Ibra are getting to know each other better, even just at the goal you could see that."
