Juanfran looks ahead to Madrid derby

Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran looks ahead to next week's Madrid derby with Real Madrid.

Atletico Madrid right-back Juanfran has insisted that next week's Madrid derby with Real Madrid is the perfect chance for his side to get their La Liga challenge back on track.

Sunday's 3-0 defeat at Osasuna was Atletico's second consecutive league defeat on the road, with that result leaving them three points off league leaders Real.

However, the Spanish international is confident that his team will recover on their own patch next week.

"We're eager to prepare the week and think that if we beat Madrid things are going to be different," he told reporters at a press conference.

"We will prepare well, we played in our stadium where we are undefeated and am convinced that we will have a good game and we will win."

As it stands, Atletico have the better head-to-head record in La Liga against Real, having beaten Carlo Ancelotti's side 1-0 at the Bernabeu earlier in the season.
