Neymar "completely in love" with Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi

Neymar says that he is "completely in love" with his Barcelona teammate Lionel Messi.

Barcelona star Neymar has claimed that he fell "completely in love" with teammate Lionel Messi following his move to Camp Nou in 2013.

The Brazilian is joined by Messi and Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo on the shortlist for tonight's Ballon d'Or.

"I fell completely in love [with Messi] - he has really become an idol," Neymar told reporters. "I think [Messi and Ronaldo] are absolutely the best, that's why they're here. I think they've made history - both Lionel and Cristiano.

"I'm pleased with the things I have achieved and the goals I have scored. I thank my teammates for that. Each player has his own aims. We have to be ourselves."

Neymar has never received the award, while Ronaldo has three and Messi has taken the gong home four times.
