Former Arsenal and France midfielder Robert Pires believes that Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe should sign for Real Madrid if he wants to go to the very top.
Los Blancos manager Zinedine Zidane is understood to have identified Mbappe as Real Madrid's priority transfer target for next summer, although the financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic could potentially hinder a move for the PSG man.
Nevertheless Pires, who won 79 caps for France, admits that while he would be thrilled if Mbappe stays in the French capital, the 21-year-old would hit new levels if he links up with the La Liga champions.
Speaking to AS, the Arsenal Invincible said: "Of course. I'm French, I like Paris Saint-Germain and I'd like him to stay in Ligue 1.
"But if he wants to keep growing as a player, he should sign for Real Madrid."
Mbappe is under contract at the Parc des Princes until 2022, where he has registered seven goals and seven assists in all competitions this season.
