Rafael Benitez "angered" by Sergio Ramos

Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez reveals that he was "angered" when Sergio Ramos conceded a penalty in the first half of Sunday's Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid.

Real Madrid boss Rafael Benitez has criticised Sergio Ramos for conceding a penalty in Sunday's Madrid derby against Atletico Madrid.

Ramos initially lost possession to Fernando Torres inside his own half, before bringing Tiago to the ground inside the box as Atletico were handed the chance to level the contest.

As it transpired, Antoine Griezmann was denied from the spot by Real goalkeeper Keylor Navas, but Benitez has said that he was "angered" by Ramos's mistake.

"What angered me most [about the derby] was the penalty. Sergio Ramos knows he can't lose the ball that way," Benitez told COPE.

Luciano Vietto levelled the scores in the 83rd minute at the weekend after Karim Benzema had handed the visitors an early lead.
