Sergio Ramos and Gareth Bale are reportedly among the Real Madrid players against the idea of Jose Mourinho returning to take charge at the Bernabeu.
The Portuguese has been tipped to return to the club he managed for three years between 2010 and 2013 due to concerns over Santiago Solari, who was only brought in four months ago.
Ex-Real president Ramon Calderon has even indicated that Mourinho's appointment could go through as early as Monday, but not all of Madrid's first-team stars are entirely happy.
According to the Daily Mail, skipper Ramos and Welsh forward Bale do not want the former Manchester United manager back.
Ramos may allegedly even force through an end-of-season exit, having been criticised by club chief Florentino Perez in a dressing room row following Tuesday's 4-1 defeat to Ajax.
Solari eased some of the growing pressure on Sunday evening as Los Blancos beat Real Valladolid 4-1 at the Estadio Municipal Jose Zorrilla.
