Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane vows to "fight" for his spot in the club's dugout.

Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has vowed to "fight" for his spot in the club's dugout.

Los Blancos have performed below expectations this season, after being dumped out of the Copa del Rey by Leganes in January and losing sight of La Liga leaders Barcelona.

Zidane, whose team are unbeaten in five league matches, however, has said that he is taking his Madrid job "day by day" amid continued speculation over his future in the Spanish capital.

"Sometimes when answering [questions about the future], there are doubts, but until I get tired of this job, I will continue," the Frenchman told reporters. "I'm fine here, I'm going to continue to fight.

"But I will say that I take it day by day. With a long contract or not, it is day by day, that is what helps me be strong.

"I'm going to fight to stay here forever. If I am to continue, before the end of the season I will tell you. Just before."

Madrid have a 3-1 advantage over Paris Saint-Germain in their Champions League tie ahead of the second leg on March 6.
