Real Madrid have reserved Zinedine Zidane's shirt number for prospective new signing Kylian Mbappe, according to a report.
The 22-year-old is close to completing a move to the Spanish capital for £145.6m, which would make him the club's record arrival.
Mbappe currently wears number seven for Paris Saint-Germain, while the number 10 is on his back when he represents France.
However, according to Spanish outlet AS, he will be offered the number five shirt at the Bernabeu, previously worn by his compatriot and hero Zidane.
Jesus Vallejo currently holds that number, but the report states that the defender will either relinquish it or Mbappe could take the 19 shirt, which is currently held by Fiorentina-bound Alvaro Odriozola.
Zidane's move to Real Madrid in 2001 was a world-record transfer and the midfielder went on to make 230 appearances for the club and win the Champions League.
