Napoli remain confident that they will sign James Rodriguez from Real Madrid this summer, according to a report.
Several Napoli players, including Lorenzo Insigne and Dries Mertens, have made public appeals to attract the Colombian midfielder as the Italian club look to persuade him to make the move.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti has publicly stated that the deal is a complicated negotiation which requires a lot of patience, but Spanish newspaper AS report that Napoli are confident that Real Madrid will loan him out with an option to buy for €35m (£31.5m).
Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis reportedly does not think that Atletico Madrid's interest in James is concrete and is confident that the 28-year-old will be keen to work under Ancelotti once more.
It has been reported that James' Real Madrid future depends on whether midfield colleague Isco moves to another club this summer.
