Real Madrid midfielder Xabi Alonso will reportedly retire from international duty after representing Spain in the World Cup this summer.
The 32-year-old, who signed a new two-year deal with his club earlier this year, has made 109 appearances for La Roja since making his international debut in 2003.
However, according to Marca, Alonso will step away from international football this summer, with a view to extending his club career with Los Blancos.
The same report has claimed that Madrid's offer of a two-year deal was partly due to Alonso's decision to walk away from Spain following the tournament in Brazil.
Spain face Netherlands in their World Cup Group B opener on June 13.
