Jesus Navas has insisted that he was fit enough to travel to the World Cup this summer, after being left out of the Spain squad for the tournament in Brazil.
The Manchester City attacker was named in the original 30-man party despite a muscular injury, but was cut from the final list by head coach Vicente del Bosque after failing to prove his fitness over the last couple of weeks.
"I am very proud to recover in time and to have fought to get to Brazil," Navas tweeted.
"I wish my colleagues and the Coach good luck to retain the trophy."
Navas's City teammate Alvaro Negredo also missed out on a place in the final 23-man squad.
