League One side Scunthorpe United have completed the signing of Dutch striker Kevin van Veen from FC Oss for an undisclosed fee.
The 23-year-old, who has scored 16 goals in 20 games in the second tier of Dutch football this season, has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal at Glanford Park.
"There was interest from other clubs - managers were ringing his agent last night while we were doing the deal. It was interesting to see the names linked with him. He could be a real coup for us," Scunthorpe manager Mark Robins told the club's official website.
"We know he can finish, he has that in his locker, physically he will be OK, he just has to get up to speed with the pace of the game and the style of football."
Van Veen began his career with Helmond Sport in 2010, and played for JVC Cuijk before joining FC Oss last year.
