Southampton complete Saphir Taider loan capture

Southampton announce that they have signed Inter Milan midfielder Saphir Taider on a season-long loan.

Southampton have completed a season-long loan move for Inter Milan midfielder Saphir Taider.

The deal has seen club-record signing Dani Osvaldo join the Serie A side on loan for the 2014-15 campaign.

Algeria international Taider, 22, has spent the past year at Inter following a move from Bologna.

"He is a talented football player. He's 22 and has already played for Algeria at the World Cup," Saints boss Ronald Koeman told the club's official website.

"It's our philosophy to bring in talented young players who like to learn and develop, and that's true of Saphir."

The youngster scored one goal in 25 games last season before making two appearances for his country at the World Cup.
