Southampton are reportedly nearing the capture of Celtic midfielder Stuart Armstrong in a deal which could rise to £8m.
Armstrong, 26, is believed to have already completed a medical with the Premier League club, in addition to agreeing terms on a four-year contract.
According to Sky Sports News, Southampton will announce the deal in the next 24 hours, with the Saints paying Celtic an initial £7m, although the deal could rise to £8m in add-ons.
Armstrong, who is a six-time Scotland international, scored five times and registered six assists in all competitions for Celtic during the 2017-18 campaign.
The midfielder will become Mark Hughes's first signing since taking charge of Southampton, and could make his debut in the English club's first pre-season friendly against Schalke 04 on July 5.
