How Tottenham Hotspur could line up against RB Leipzig

Sports Mole looks at how Tottenham Hotspur could line up in Tuesday's Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.

Tottenham Hotspur will head to RB Leipzig on Tuesday night looking to recover from a 1-0 deficit in their Champions League last-16 contest.

Spurs suffered a one-goal defeat to the Bundesliga side in the reverse match at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium last month and therefore have work to do if they are to progress to the quarter-finals.

Jose Mourinho's side are winless in their last five games in all competitions but did pick up a point at an in-form Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday despite falling behind.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the capital giants could line up against Leipzig.

Out: Harry Kane (hamstring), Moussa Sissoko (knee), Son Heung-min (arm), Steven Bergwijn (ankle), Ben Davies (hamstring)

Tottenham played a 4-4-2 in the first leg against Leipzig, and it would not be a surprise to see the English club line up in the same formation on Tuesday night.

There will be no Steven Bergwijn, though, with the January arrival picking up a serious ankle injury against Burnley, meaning that Ryan Sessegnon could be handed an attacking role down the left.

Serge Aurier, Lucas Moura and Giovani Lo Celso were all named on the bench against the Clarets with the view to this match and therefore all three should return to the starting XI.

Jan Vertonghen could get the nod at left-back as Ben Davies is out with a hamstring issue, while Harry Winks was given a rest against the Clarets on Saturday and is also expected to feature in the side.

Harry Kane, Son Heung-min and Moussa Sissoko remain on the sidelines, although Juan Foyth could be an option for Mourinho at the back as the Argentine battles back from a groin problem.

Dele Alli should also keep his spot in the final third having registered against Sean Dyche's side last time out, with the England international potentially joining Lucas as part of a front two.
