Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has backed his squad's strength in depth to come to the fore during a packed fixture schedule.
Spurs added another match to their busy month by forcing an FA Cup replay with Leicester City this afternoon courtesy of Harry Kane's contentious late penalty.
With Europa League commitments in addition to their top-four chase in the Premier League, Pochettino admitted that the schedule was "tough", but believes that his squad's fringe players are good enough to step in having made seven changes for today's FA Cup tie.
"It is tough for us and tough for [Leicester]. We need to be strong in our mind. We have a strong squad. Today showed that those not playing in the first team can fight for a place," he told reporters.
"It's complicated. It's tough to play Premier League, Europa League and cups. But it's for that we have a very strong squad and we made seven changes.
"We need to keep fit all the players, and motivated. It's a good thing to compete and that the squad believes everyone can compete for a consistent place in the team."
Spurs will face Leicester three times in January alone, with the two meeting in a Premier League clash at White Hart Lane on Wednesday in addition to their two FA Cup ties.
