Nacer Chadli: 'I rejected chance to join Swansea City'

Tottenham Hotspur winger Nacer Chadli reveals that he had the opportunity to move to Swansea City on loan in January.

Nacer Chadli has revealed that he rejected the opportunity to move to Swansea City on loan in the January transfer window.

The Tottenham Hotspur winger was heavily linked with a temporary move away from White Hart Lane last month but insists that he was never eager to leave the club he joined last summer.

"It was a possibility, but it is in the past," Chadli told reporters when asked about the interest from Swansea.

"I had to make a decision and my decision was to stay. Everything was not clear so I wanted to stay at Tottenham and play for my club. I have signed for five years and I'm happy.

"When I came to Spurs, I knew I wasn't going to play in every game as we have 60 matches in a season."

Chadli scored his first Premier League goal in the victory over Newcastle United on Wednesday.
