Bayern Munich defender Dante has encouraged his Brazilian teammate Bernard to join their Bundesliga rivals Borussia Dortmund and snub interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Spurs are apparently desperate to land the skilful 5'4" winger, who is all but certain to leave native club Atletico Mineiro this summer to join one of Europe's top clubs.
Dortmund are seeking a replacement for Bayern Munich-bound Mario Gotze and have been linked with the 20-year-old, whose diminutive frame would be more suited to German football than the Premier League, according to his international colleague.
Dante told Terra: "I talked a bit with Bernard and I explained the philosophy of this country. He is a talented boy who will adapt to Germany.
"If that is his desire then I hope he will do it. I gave him some tips. He may not have a physique like many other players but he is a player who would suit Borussia Dortmund's style of play."
It is understood that Bernard, who has scored 11 goals in 59 Brazilian top-flight appearances, would cost potential suitors around £15m.
